About This Role
Horizontal Falls is recruiting trainees for single-pilot Cessna 208 Caravan operations based in Broome, Western Australia. Successful candidates will initially join a two-year contract, receive a floatplane endorsement before completing 100 hours ICUS, and begin training in February 2027 in the Whitsundays before relocating to Broome. The role combines scenic tourism flying with responsibility for safe aircraft and passenger operations in the Kimberley.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Horizontal Falls' Cessna 208 Caravan fleet in single-pilot operations around Broome and the Kimberley.
- The pilot in command is responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft and the passengers onboard, and must follow company procedures, manuals, and reasonable instructions.
- The role requires assessing situations and making sound decisions while flying independently, maintaining a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement, communicating effectively with guests and colleagues, and helping deliver a high-quality scenic tourism experience across red cliffs, turquoise waters, and mangrove environments.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a CASA Part 61 Commercial Pilots License, CASA Class 1 Medical, a current aeroplane flight review, and at least 1,000 hours of total flight time.
- No floatplane experience is required, while 50 hours on the Cessna 208 is highly desirable.
- Candidates must be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card, complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and have the right to work in Australia.
- Required ratings and endorsements include a single-engine aeroplane class rating, Cessna 208 (C208), retractable undercarriage design feature endorsement, gas turbine design feature endorsement, and manual propeller pitch control design feature endorsement.
