About This Role
Katmai Air, a general aviation operator based in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking experienced seaplane pilots for seasonal employment. This position is ideal for pilots with extensive floatplane and Alaska flying experience who are comfortable working in remote, harsh environments. Candidates must hold a Commercial Pilot License with float rating and instrument rating, with a minimum of 1500 total flight hours and 300 hours on single-engine seaplanes. Preferred qualifications include ATP certification, 1000+ hours of floatplane experience in Alaska, Part 135 operations background, and flight instruction experience. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate various seaplane aircraft on floatplane operations
- Conduct seaplane operations in Alaska
- Perform duties in Part 135 regulated operations
Requirements
- Minimum 1500 hours total flight time
- Minimum 300 hours single-engine seaplane (SES) time
- Valid CPL with Float Rating and Instrument Rating
- Valid FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate (preferred)
- ATP certification (preferred)
- 1000+ hours floatplane experience in Alaska (preferred)
- 3 or more years experience in FAA Part 135 operations (preferred)
- Previous Flight Instruction experience or Company Instructor/Check Pilot authority (preferred)
- Instrument flying proficiency
- Alaska flying experience (preferred)
- Goal-oriented with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms
- Ability to take instruction and offer goal-oriented improvements
- High level of customer service
- Good judgment
- Flexibility regarding hours of work and duty station assignment
- Preparedness for harsh Alaskan environment
