Pacific Coastal Airlines is recruiting permanent full-time Saab First Officers for its seasoned Vancouver-based flight crew. Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a permanent full-time Saab First Officer within Pacific Coastal Airlines’ Vancouver flight crew, supporting regional flying across its British Columbia network.
- The role involves varying shifts, travel away from home, and overnight assignments.
What We Offer
The package includes commuting within the airline’s network, subject to hiring-process approval, and the ability to apply for preferred bases and equipment through specific postings.Compensation includes a base rate of $55.00 per credit hour, a minimum annual base salary of $52,800, at least 80 flying credits per month, overtime opportunities, and a $5.10 per-duty-hour per diem.Scheduling benefits include a maximum of 18 duty periods per monthly schedule, fewer duty periods when higher-credit duties are worked, Wild Card Days, banked statutory holidays that can provide up to three additional weeks of paid time off, annual vacation, peer shift trading, and guaranteed days off.Travel benefits include jump-seat privileges and employee and family travel arrangements with numerous partner airlines.Eligible First Officers who upgrade may receive a one-time $25,000 retention bonus after completing two years as a Captain.Pacific Coastal Airlines pays all extended-health and dental premiums and half the premiums for disability, life, and AD&D insurance, effective immediately upon employment.Coverage also includes paramedical care, emergency out-of-country medical care, vision care, short- and long-term disability, optional critical-illness insurance, and a peer-to-peer rewards program.
Requirements
- Applicants must have at least 500 hours of total flight time and hold either a CPL with IATRA or an ATPL
- the IATRA must have been completed within the preceding 18 months. A current Multi Engine IFR qualification and valid Category 1 Medical Certificate are required, and a bond applies under the Crew Practices Manual. Candidates must be able to travel away from home, including overnight, work varying shifts, obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card, and travel to and from the United States without restrictions. They must be Canadian citizens, Canadian permanent residents, or holders of a valid Canadian work permit, and must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance. Preference is given for a type rating and for multi-crew, multi-engine, IFR, or turbine experience gained in 600/702/703/704/705 or military operations. Flight instructors should expect consideration with at least 1,000 hours of total-time experience.
