About This Role
JSX is hiring for a Miami-Opa Locka-based Quick Upgrade Captain flight-crew position focused on safe, efficient, FAA-compliant operations and exceptional customer service. Typical schedules average 3-5 legs per day over 14-16 days per month, with an effort to return crew to base each night. The role combines detailed pre-flight planning, in-flight coordination and safety-focused decision-making with hands-on post-flight turnaround support, recurrent training, and occasional baggage or ground assistance at airports with limited support. When operational demand or an opening permits, the successful pilot is positioned for an early upgrade into the left seat.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Coordinate departure and arrival strategies with the Captain, including diversion planning when appropriate, and complete all required pre-flight checks, safety procedures, and cockpit flows.
- Operate the aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, JSX standard operating procedures, and industry safety standards while maintaining real-time communication with Mission Control/Dispatch, Ground Operations, air traffic control, and the Flight Attendant.
- Act as the secondary voice in cockpit decision-making and respond quickly and confidently to changing conditions.
- After landing, support quick-turn activities by tidying the cabin, cleaning tray tables, crossing seatbelts, collecting trash, and assisting the Flight Attendant to protect on-time performance.
- Record maintenance issues in Traxxall and communicate critical updates to Mission Control.
- Participate in recurrent training and performance evaluations, assist with baggage handling or other ground duties where airport support is limited, and consistently represent JSX with high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
