About This Role
Lockheed Martin is seeking a C-130J Production and Training Pilot for its Marietta Flight Operations team. The role combines production acceptance, delivery and ferry flying, engineering and experimental flight testing, instructor-pilot duties, classroom and simulator instruction, customer demonstrations, and technical input to flight-test, engineering, training, customer-support, and marketing teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot will fly C-130J aircraft on production acceptance, functional check, delivery, ferry, engineering, experimental, and developmental test flights, validating compliance with FARs and military specifications and assessing operational suitability. The role also serves as a C-130J instructor pilot for company and customer pilots and aircrew, providing classroom, simulator, syllabus, and in-flight instruction. Additional responsibilities include airshow and customer demonstration flights
- pilot input to flight-test, production, engineering, training, customer-support, advanced-development, and marketing teams
- assistance with ground and flight-test procedures
- review and updating of flight manuals and source material
- planning requirements and Statements of Work
- participation in test-plan reviews, Safety Review Boards, First Flight Readiness Reviews, and Design Review Boards
- and development of Temporary Operating Procedures and Aircraft Operating Limitations for flight-test programs.

Requirements
- Basic qualifications include at least 1,500 hours of total flying time in multiengine aircraft, at least 1,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command or Aircraft Commander time, and 300 hours of PIC time in transport-type aircraft.
- Candidates must have C-130J pilot experience, an FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate, current or former military Instructor Pilot qualification, and a current FAA Second Class or First Class medical or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- A Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required, and the applicant must be a US Citizen because the position requires special facility access.
- Desired qualifications include an FAA ATP Airplane Multi-engine Land certificate, multiengine and/or instrument airplane CFI privileges, an L-382 or L-382J type rating, current C-130J instructor-pilot or flight-examiner qualification, C-130J Block 8.1 or 8.1.1 knowledge, engineering or experimental flight-test experience, courseware, platform, simulator, or in-flight instruction experience, technical-publication experience, C-130 tactical or special-operations experience, familiarity with AFI 10-220, DCMA INST 8210-1 and contract flight operations, C-130 functional or acceptance check-flight experience, legacy C-130 experience, weapons, tactics, safety, or advanced instrument school graduation, C-5 or P-3 experience, tanker and aerial-refueling experience, and a current passport.
