About This Role
Full-time Production Test Pilot based in Savannah, Georgia, supporting Gulfstream production and customer aircraft operations. The role conducts flight-test and acceptance activities, evaluates aircraft systems against design and FAA airworthiness standards, supports engineering and manufacturing teams, provides customer and crew training, and assists Sales and Marketing with technical demonstrations. Travel is listed as up to 25 percent on first shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Chief Production Test Pilot or Senior Production Test Pilot, conduct initial flight tests and acceptance testing of Gulfstream production aircraft.
- Functionally evaluate airframes, engines, avionics, and related systems to confirm that aircraft meet FAA Certificate of Airworthiness standards.
- Debrief engineering and manufacturing personnel on ground and flight discrepancies and provide technical assistance to resolve problems.
- Represent Gulfstream during FAA Certificate of Airworthiness flight checks.
- Conduct test flights of customer aircraft after initial outfitting, certification-related modifications, or Service Center maintenance.
- Evaluate used aircraft being sold or traded in for airworthiness and compliance with current production-aircraft functional standards.
- Conduct customer pilot-training flights as needed, and provide ground and flight instruction to company and customer crews on new aircraft products, installed systems, and new or upgraded appliances.
- Support Sales and Marketing through technology briefings in the ITF and local sales-demonstration flights, and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a technically related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential job functions.
- The posting asks for seven years of flight experience and the ability to maintain an FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Candidates must hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot license (ATP/ATPL) or have the ability to attain one, and should have previous flight-test or maintenance-test-pilot experience.
- Previous Gulfstream experience with GVI, GVII, and GVIII type ratings, CFI certification, and functional test-pilot experience are preferred rather than required.
