About This Role
Perimeter Aviation LP is recruiting a Dash 8 705 Captain for Timmins, Ontario. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the Captain will transport thousands of passengers each year and make safety the top priority while maintaining passenger comfort and on-time performance. The position supports a company operating Metro, Merlin and Dash 8 aircraft and providing scheduled passenger and freight services to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, as well as charter and medical evacuation services. The work combines flight preparation, dispatch coordination, aircraft inspections, cargo handling and post-flight accountability, with flexible scheduling, extended travel and indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- As a 705 Captain, conduct flights in strict compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual, while prioritizing safety, passenger comfort and on-time performance.
- Before departure, check weather and applicable NOTAMs where available, determine fuel and oil requirements, calculate airplane weight and balance, review, amend and accept the Type B 705 Operational Flight Plan, and complete the airplane pre-flight inspection.
- Load, unload and secure cargo or freight as required, and complete flight watch jointly with the flight dispatcher.
- After each flight, complete all post-flight duties, including notifying or confirming the airplane's whereabouts with the company when away from base, recording flight times and documenting defects.
- Continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada qualification standards for a pilot and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a Category 1 Medical, a current Group 1 Instrument Rating, and an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with 3000 hours total time.
- They must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations, remain fluent in English with effective verbal, written and listening communication skills, and continue to meet or exceed Transport Canada qualification standards for a pilot.
- The role requires physical ability to perform all listed duties, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, travel by aircraft or other means, indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, flexible scheduling and travel for extended periods.
