About This Role
Air France ab-initio Pilote Cadet programme: a fully Air France-funded 24-month training course leading to the airline pilot (Pilote de Ligne / OPL) profession for candidates with little or no prior pilot experience. The line pilot role covers flying, navigation, radio communications and technical monitoring of the aircraft; crews comprise a Captain (CDB) and at least one First Officer (OPL).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pilotage, navigation, management of radio communications and technical monitoring of the aircraft. The line pilot ensures the safety and security of the flight from preparation through to closeout. Pilots are split into Captain (Commandant de bord) and First Officer (Officier Pilote de Ligne) categories
- a crew always comprises a Captain and at least one First Officer.
Requirements
- Candidates must NOT hold a CPL(A) licence at the close of registration for the cadet pilot selection, and must not have obtained an IRME qualification before starting the Cadet course (exception: candidates adjourned one year after a first PSY2 may apply with a CPL on their second PSY2).
- Minimum education: Baccalaureat obtained (Bac obtenu).
- French language at C1 (4 - Confirme / C1).
- Class 2 medical licence valid (Class 1 / Class 1 with derogation also accepted).
- Required documents include CV and cover letter in French, ID/passport, diploma, and where applicable the theoretical ATPL(A).
- A reinforced English-language test is integrated into PSY0 (TOEIC no longer required).
- Holders of a military pilot brevet should instead apply via the 'Pilote professionnel' track.
