About This Role
Lead Captain role at Clay Lacy Aviation flying the Pilatus PC-24 under FAA Part 91 (private/managed aircraft operation) out of Santa Ana, CA (KSNA). Beyond flying as PIC or SIC, the Lead Captain owns the account relationship and crew administration for the flight department. Full-time only (no contract); $250,000-$280,000 per annum with 100% employer-paid medical/dental/vision.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) as designated
- ensure compliance with flight and maintenance schedules and directives
- ensure crew compliance with flight & duty time limitations
- accomplish pre-flight/post-flight duties & inspections IAW the AFM
- manage aircraft inventory
- monitor crew performance and feed annual performance reviews to the ACP
- complete crew expense reports
- review monthly billing summaries
- manage crew days off and vacation
- conduct monthly currency reviews and annual aircraft black book audits
- coordinate maintenance-related items with the Maintenance Controller/DOM
- act as liaison between the aircraft owner/charter client and CLA's Charter Department and Chief Pilot's office
- participate in flight department hiring.
Requirements
- PC24 type rating required.
- First Class Medical Required.
- Applicable FAA Part 91 and/or FAA Part 135 requirements for aircraft type assigned.
- ATP certificate required.
- Must remain current with flight requirements.
- Valid & unexpired Driver's License.
- Valid & unexpired Passport.
- Lead Candidates are required to be type rated in the PC24 and reside within a 2 hour drivable commuting distance to KSNA, or be willing to relocate.
- Must live within two (2) hours of KSNA.
