About This Role
Airbus is hiring a Pilot Instructor / Examiner (TRI/TRE) for the Airbus Europe Training Centre in Blagnac near Toulouse. The role delivers flight, line and simulator training and checking to international customers, represents Airbus before operators and authorities, leads Initial Operating Experience activities, and supports aircraft entry into service, safety and training and flight-operations projects. It is a professional training position requiring current A320 and A330/A350 TRI and Captain qualifications together with extensive large-jet and Airbus Captain experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The TRI/TRE reports directly to the Head of TRI/TRE within the Flight Crew Training organisation at Airbus Training Center Europe and belongs to the execution department. Responsibilities include acting as an Airbus TRI/TRE
- conducting line training and line checking
- conducting simulator training and checking, mainly in Toulouse
- supporting the TFOS community and office activities as required
- and delivering the best possible training and checking within the holder's qualifications to support safe and efficient entry into service and operation of Airbus aircraft. The role includes training and checking in flight and in the simulator, working on TFOS projects, representing the Airbus ATO and manufacturer before customers, and supporting customers during the flight period. The instructor is expected to identify potential problems proactively, find solutions, act as team leader during Initial Operating Experience, coordinate with Airbus and airline teams, and undertake standardisation, development and management tasks. The role also requires maintaining and upgrading competencies in line with qualifications.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include an EASA ATPL licence, a valid EASA TRI on A320+A330/A350 LIFUS, a valid EASA Class 1 medical, and an English proficiency rating of 4 with fluency in English. The candidate must hold a low-visibility operations qualification, including at least one autoland as Captain on an Airbus fly-by-wire aircraft, and must hold or have held an ETOPS qualification. Required experience is at least 5,000 hours as a pilot, 2,000 hours on large jet aircraft, 2,500 hours as Captain on Airbus aircraft, 500 hours of FFS instructor experience on large aircraft, and 500 hours as Captain assigned to conduct LIFUS/IOE. A significant portion of the instructor experience must be oriented toward initial type ratings, and the candidate must be current and experienced as Captain and TRI on A320 and A330/A350. Significant commercial airline experience and expertise in evidence-based training and competency-based training assessment are required. A project-management mindset is expected
- TRE experience, managerial experience and flight-safety experience are pluses. Upon hiring, the TRI/TRE must convert their licence to the French State (DGAC), with support from the standardisation department. The probation period is a minimum of three months and may be renewed.
