About This Role
Reynolds Jet, a leading private aircraft management and on-demand jet charter company, is seeking experienced Pilots in Command to operate various aircraft. This position requires a minimum of 1,200 total flight hours with extensive cross-country, night, and instrument experience. Candidates must hold either an ATPL or CPL with appropriate type ratings and medical certification depending on aircraft category. Duties & Responsibilities
- Assume command of flight crew and responsibility for safe aircraft operation
- Maintain final authority for safe operation of aircraft per 14 CFR § 91.3
- Make decisions regarding flight start, delay, cancellation, or destination deviation
- Direct activities of Second in Command (SIC) if applicable
- Participate in Safety Management System by identifying and reporting hazards
- Ensure flight crew fitness for duty and monitor in-flight crew capacity
- Determine fuel, oil and oxygen requirements for flights
- Obtain weather, NOTAM and operational briefings prior to flight
- Prepare or supervise preparation of flight plans
- Ensure aircraft operation within weight and balance limitations
- Report FAA violations or incidents to Chief Pilot
- Maintain current medical certificate and notify management of health issues
- Conduct aircraft preflight inspections and equipment checks
- Ensure emergency equipment and catering provisions are aboard
- Brief passengers prior to each flight leg
- Complete post-flight duties including flight logs and incident reporting
- Communicate maintenance write-ups to Director of Maintenance
- Ensure aircraft is airworthy with proper documentation and registrations
- Act as Ground Security Coordinator and Inflight Security Coordinator per TSA requirements
- Report hazardous weather conditions to air traffic services
- Notify appropriate authorities in case of accident or incident
- Report suspected communicable diseases to air traffic control
- Delegate functions to subordinates while retaining final responsibility
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1,200 hours total flight time
- 500 hours cross-country flight time
- 100 hours night flight time (including 10 night takeoffs and landings)
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time (minimum 50 hours actual)
- ATPL certificate for turbojet air carrier flights or aircraft requiring two pilots
- CPL certificate minimum for other aircraft
- Appropriate category, class and type rating for assigned aircraft
- Instrument rating
- Multiengine rating if applicable
- First Class Medical Certificate for ATP operations
- Second Class Medical Certificate for other operations
- Current medical certificate maintained throughout employment
- Thorough knowledge of General Operations Manual and FAA Regulations
- Knowledge of Operations Specifications and Flight Manuals
