About This Role
Pilot-in-command (Captain) role at Jett Aircraft, a FAR Part 135 operator flying a Learjet 40/45 fleet. Home-based crew averaging ~5 overnights and ~16 flying days per month. Captain is in command of the aircraft, files flight plans, completes weight and balance, checks NOTAMs/weather, and ensures operations comply with FARs and company policy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot-in-command is designated as captain for a flight or series of flights and is in command of the aircraft for the designated period of duty unless relieved by the company. Duties: Ensure that all flights are conducted with safety as the primary consideration
- File flight plans
- Complete weight and balance
- Check NOTAMs and weather
- Ensure that the operation of the aircraft is within the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Specifications, and established company policies and safety management procedures
- Assess any risk associated with assigned operations
- Ensure each flight is planned properly and the aircraft is fueled accordingly
- Determine that the aircraft is airworthy
- Ensure aircraft weight and balance are computed correctly and within AFM-acceptable limits
- Issue instructions to the first officer
- Responsible for the safe handling of passengers, baggage and cargo. Pilots must be able to lift, push or pull at least 80 pounds.
Requirements
- Captain Must Have ATP 1500 Hours Total Time 2500 Preferred 500 Hours Turbine 500 Hours Multi Current US Passport FAA Medical First Class.
- Each pilot is type rated in the Learjet 45 and certified through company training programs.
- All crew members are trained per FAR Part 135 standards.
