About This Role
Fargo Jet Center is seeking a WMI Pilot In Command for international weather modification and special mission operations. The position operates King Air C90 and B200 aircraft in specific weather conditions, supports the maintenance of aircraft and mission equipment, coordinates with project meteorologists regarding storm and cloud development, and provides operational updates to WMI key personnel. The role is based in Fargo, North Dakota, involves international assignments and travel, and may require a 24-hour, seven-day weather watch.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the WMI Pilot In Command operates aircraft during special mission operations and flies in specified weather conditions.
- Responsibilities include assisting with maintenance of the aircraft and special mission equipment, replenishing seeding agents as required, and keeping project meteorologists informed of new storm or cloud development during operations.
- The pilot must maintain accurate flight records, keep the aircraft, office, and work area clean and organized, and provide a 24-hour, seven-day weather watch when needed or requested.
- The role also requires positive public relations, maintaining a professional image, promoting a team environment, and providing WMI key personnel with updates after operations.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Applicants must have 2,500 or more hours of total flight time, including 500 hours of turbine time, and must hold a bachelor's degree. Commercial, multi-engine, and instrument ratings are required
- multi-engine flight time is preferred but no amount is specified. Candidates must hold a current First or Second Class Medical, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and be fluent in English. The role requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion, willingness to relocate and travel internationally, and a passport. Physical requirements include sitting or standing for extended periods, frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
