About This Role
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking an experienced professional pilot to serve as Pilot in Command of a Gulfstream 280 in a unique long-term opportunity supporting a distinguished aircraft owner. The three-pilot operation flies primarily Part 91 with some Part 135 work from KRDU in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, alongside an experienced crewmember and a dedicated maintenance technician. Duties & Responsibilities
- The Pilot in Command has final responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated safely, compliantly and efficiently. The PIC ensures crewing and trip assignments meet company and regulatory requirements
- completes flight planning, performance and weight-and-balance work
- uses the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks
- follows company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel
- and serves as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator under company policy. The PIC completes aircraft pre-flight tasks, checks maintenance status and mission capability, records discrepancies under the SOPs, monitors and ensures ground servicing such as fueling, oil and oxygen, and completes passenger briefings. The role delivers the highest level of customer service and addresses passenger special needs, including those of physically challenged passengers, while using Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate clearly and promptly with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal and emergency operations. It also provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifies ways to improve the EJM experience, investigates and resolves service deviations, collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners, and resolves conflicts and challenges in an acceptable manner. Finally, the PIC maintains required training and recency, complies with the company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.

Requirements
- Applicants should have 4–6 years of experience, with prior corporate or business aviation experience preferred.
- The role calls for an FAA type rating in the applicable fleet and the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum flight-time requirements are 3,500 hours total flight time, 1,500 hours Multi Engine Land (MEL), 2,000 hours Pilot in Command, 500 hours PIC MEL, 300 hours instrument time and 500 hours jet time.
- The pilot must maintain regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience, comply with the company SMS program and report safety or non-compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
