About This Role
Talkeetna Air Taxi is seeking experienced Pilot in Command candidates for DHC-3 Otter operations in Talkeetna, Alaska. The company specializes in flightseeing, glacier landings, climbing support, and backcountry operations—performing more glacier landings than any other company in the world. Candidates must hold a Commercial Pilot License with a minimum of 2,000 total flight hours and 500 hours of tail wheel experience, plus at least 50 hours in the DHC-3 Otter. Selected pilots will complete one week of ground school in late April and pass all required check rides. This position offers the opportunity to work in Alaska's backcountry with a specialized operator known for world-class glacier operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate DHC-3 Otter on flightseeing and scenic flights
- Conduct glacier landings and backcountry operations
- Provide climbing support and access flights
- Perform aircraft pre-flight checks and safety procedures
- Maintain professional standards and passenger safety
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
- Minimum 2,000 hours total flight time
- 500 hours tail wheel time preferred
- Minimum 50 hours in DHC-3 Otter
- Experience in Cessna 185 and/or DHC-2 Beaver preferred
- Must pass one week of ground school in Talkeetna (late April)
- Must pass all required check rides before employment finalized
