About This Role
A2G International, an independent provider of outsourced manned Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) services, is hiring a Lead Pilot / Instructor Pilot (LP/IP) for its Cessna 337G/H Skymaster program, contingent upon contract award. As the senior line pilot the successful candidate maintains Pilot-in-Command qualifications on the Cessna 337 while leading aircrew standardization, training, evaluation, and mission execution in support of CONUS and OCONUS collection missions. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the role ensures aircrew stay qualified and mission-ready in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, DCMA 8210.D, and applicable government directives, and acts as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO) and liaison with US Government Flight Operations personnel and the Government Flight Representative (GFR). Training is conducted in Titusville, FL with no relocation required; pilots are employed on a deployment-rotation basis and are on leave without pay when not training or deployed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a qualified Cessna 337 Pilot-in-Command and provide leadership and day-to-day operational oversight to assigned pilots, supporting the Director of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot function.
- Develop, conduct, and document initial, transition, recurrent, continuation, instrument, emergency-procedure, and mission-oriented training in accordance with approved company procedures and government requirements.
- Provide flight and ground instruction and recommend pilots for qualification or additional training based on demonstrated proficiency.
- Standardize pilot techniques, procedures, checklist discipline, mission planning, crew coordination, risk management, and aircraft operating practices.
- Maintain and assist with pilot training folders, qualification records, currency tracking, and flight evaluations required by the FGOP and contract.
- Support development and revision of training syllabi, lesson plans, standardization guides, operating procedures, checklists, and flight operations forms.
- Coordinate pilot schedules, training requirements, currency events, and operational coverage with Flight Operations leadership, and identify and elevate qualification, proficiency, staffing, and operational risks.
- Interface professionally with Government representatives after contract award, support GFR qualification/evaluation requirements, act as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO) and liaison with US Government Flight Operations and GFR, and participate in safety reviews, operational risk management, mishap prevention, lessons learned, and corrective-action activities.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience (additional years of experience may substitute for a degree), plus 2+ years supervising or leading teams and projects. Flight hours and FAA requirements: 2,000 hours total flight time
- 1,000 hours documented PIC time
- and 300 hours PIC in a Cessna 337 or similar aircraft type. Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate. Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane (CFI) and Instrument Airplane (CFII) ratings
- a Multiengine Instructor (MEI) rating is strongly preferred and may be required depending on the final approved training construct. Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Airplane Multiengine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings appropriate to the operation. General requirements: US citizen
- minimum age 21
- must read, write, speak and understand English
- valid passport and state driver's license
- currently hold an active DoD Secret clearance or higher
- able to meet all contractual/program training requirements
- and able to pass a background check plus pre-employment and active-employment drug screenings
Preferred Qualifications
- active DoD Top Secret clearance
- FAA Multiengine Instructor (MEI) rating
- 2,000+ hours PIC in a similar multi-engine turboprop aircraft
- 200 hours of actual instrument time
- Cessna 337/336, O-2, Reims F337 or related Skymaster-family PIC and instructional experience
- prior experience as a U.S. military Standardization Instructor Pilot, Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Pilot, DEA Pilot or US contracting ISR pilot
- and prior rotation experience, particularly in the current area of operation.
