About This Role
Cutter Aviation is seeking a Captain/Pilot-in-Command for a new HondaJet HA420. The remote role is based at John Wayne–Orange County Airport in California and supports the owners’ travel requirements as well as single-pilot Part 91 and Part 135 on-demand charter flying. The PIC is the primary face of Cutter Aviation, responsible for relationship building and world-class customer service, on-site management and coordination with Cutter Flight Management across all phases of aircraft operations, and external representation to aircraft owners, operators, business partners, and the business-aviation community.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as PIC on the HA420 HondaJet in single-pilot Part 91 and Part 135 on-demand charter operations, supporting owners’ travel and charter flying. Provide world-class service, maintain an uncompromising commitment to safety, remain available 24/7 year-round, adapt to rotating schedules and short-notice callouts, and act as Cutter Aviation’s primary face and external representative to aircraft owners, operators, business partners, and the business-aviation community. Perform on-site management and liaise with Cutter Flight Management regarding all phases of aircraft operations and support. Follow established procedures for reporting irregularities during flights and ground checks and for maintaining records. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations covering actual flight, qualifications, currency, fitness for flight, and aircraft compliance
- train an SIC pilot to properly perform the SIC functions
- and complete additional administrative duties assigned by the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements include a Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- a current 1st Class Medical or the ability to qualify for one
- no accidents, incidents, or sanctions in the past 5 years
- and knowledge of general aviation aircraft, their service requirements, and the needs of crews and passengers. The posting also requires attention to detail, ability to lift 50 lbs, excellent multitasking ability, friendly rapport-building, professional appearance and mannerisms, independent self-starting work, a sincere desire to assist customers and work as part of a team, ability to train an SIC pilot to perform the SIC functions properly, and excellent customer-service, organizational, and communication skills. Previous Turbojet Type Rating and/or Turboprop experience is preferred, as are 3000 Total Time hours, 1500 PIC Hours, 250 PIC Hours in turbine-powered aircraft, previous on-demand charter operations experience, and previous FSI or Simuflite Training. Additional requirements are a clean driving record, ability to pass a background check and drug screening test, and a High School Diploma or GED.
