About This Role
RAVN Aerospace is seeking a former military tactical pilot for a full-time pilot and company-builder role supporting demanding tactical missions while helping shape the growth of the organization. The position supports military training, adversary air, research and development, test and evaluation, flight training, and other specialized tactical aviation missions. In addition to flying, the successful candidate may contribute to flight operations, standardization and evaluation, instructor development, safety, program management, business development, customer relations, training system development, new aircraft programs, and executive leadership. The role is based in the San Antonio area according to the posting header, with assignments potentially available in Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, or other operating locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pilot will support demanding tactical missions and work with RAVN's flight operations and aviation professionals across military training, adversary air, research and development, test and evaluation, flight training, and specialized tactical aviation missions.
- Depending on the candidate's experience, interests, and program assignment, responsibilities may include flight operations, standardization and evaluation, instructor development, safety programs, program management, business development, customer relations, training system development, strategic growth initiatives, new aircraft programs, and executive leadership.
- The role also involves contributing leadership, initiative, operational expertise, mentoring, and organizational improvement while helping develop the company's people, programs, standards, and systems.
- Pilots must operate safely in aircraft, hangar, ramp, and flight-line environments, maintain assigned qualifications and currency, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Required qualifications include former military pilot status with tactical aviation experience
- demonstrated leadership, initiative, ownership, integrity, and sound judgment
- the ability to support demanding tactical flight operations while contributing to broader organizational priorities
- and the ability to maintain all qualifications, medical certifications, training, and currency required for assigned aircraft and missions. Candidates must comply with company procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable federal aviation and defense regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, including the ability to mentor personnel and collaborate across departments. The role requires full-time availability, including travel and irregular hours when operationally necessary, as well as the ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances, installation access, and airport credentials. Candidates must be able to meet the medical and physical standards for assigned flight duties, safely enter and operate assigned aircraft and associated equipment, and work in aircraft, hangar, ramp, and flight-line environments involving loud noise, fumes, varying weather, and other operational hazards. Evening, weekend, holiday, overnight, and travel assignments may be required. Candidates must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States, complete an I-9 Form, possess a valid driver's license, satisfy company driving requirements, and meet applicable background, security, medical, and access requirements.
