About This Role
NetJets is hiring a First Officer for its East Region operation. The pilot is responsible for delivering safe, technically accurate air transportation while providing a highly personalized, concierge-level experience to NetJets Owners and passengers. The role combines professional flight operations with passenger service, including pre-flight greetings and briefings, in-flight catering and alcohol service, baggage handling, and assistance with flights involving pets or smoking passengers. The pilot remains the final authority for aircraft operations and must maintain a professional demeanor, strong safety record, and consistently high service standard. Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer supports the safe operation of each aircraft from taxi through take-off and landing in accordance with FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, the NetJets Flight Operations Manual or Aircraft Operating Manual, and standard operating practices. The pilot greets Owners and passengers before departure, makes introductions, briefs them on the specific flight and trip, verifies the itinerary, provides weather updates and safety briefings, and explains itinerary changes. The pilot provides in-flight service as needed, including handling alcohol and serving catering
- loads and properly stows baggage when required
- and handles flights for Owners travelling with pets or who smoke. The pilot serves as the final authority on the aircraft for all operational matters and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance. The role also requires acting as a liaison between Owners or passengers and NetJets from arrival at the FBO through safe landing and departure from the destination FBO. Pilots must promptly communicate maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company's fleet Maintenance Control Center controller and complete all associated maintenance paperwork. Requirements
- Education: High School. The posting accepts an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, a Restricted ATP, or candidates who meet the requirements for an FAA ATP or R-ATP certificate with a multi-engine rating under 61.160. The stated total-time pathways are 1,500 hours of total flight time, 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate. Additional flight-experience requirements are 200 hours of cross-country flight time over 50 nautical miles, 250 hours of fixed-wing PIC time, 100 hours of night flying or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings, 75 hours of instrument time in actual or simulated in-flight conditions excluding simulator time, and 50 hours of fixed-wing multi-engine time. The ATP written examination must be completed before the start of indoctrination training. Candidates must hold a current FAA First-Class Medical certificate, an FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit, a valid United States passport, authorization to work in the United States and travel in and out of the country without restriction, and a valid state driver's license. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, able to read, write, speak fluently, and understand English, and able to obtain the required airport authority and/or US Customs security badges and pass TSA background screening. The schedule requires flexibility for day and night work, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Pilots must manage their rest for flight duty, may work up to 14 hours per day for as many as eight days during a trip, may cross time zones and encounter extreme weather differences, and may be away from home for seven or more days and nights in hotels.
