About This Role
Part-time, on-call Simulator Flight Instructor role with CAE Civil Aviation Training Solutions at its Dallas training centre, supporting the ATP-CTP program on the Embraer E170/190 platform. The instructor delivers Part 142 simulator-based and ground-school training to CAE's airline customers in line with regulatory standards, customer requirements, and CAE operating procedures — running simulator sessions, ATP/CTP ground school, and thorough pre- and post-flight briefings, while keeping their own instructional qualifications current.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver instructor-led / Part 142 training to CAE customers
- provide ATP/CTP ground school and simulator training on the E170/190 platform
- conduct thorough pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in line with CAE standards
- deliver simulator instruction toward licences, type ratings, and certifications
- ensure accurate, comprehensive completion of client training records with seamless handover to other instructors
- recommend remedial training when necessary
- record simulator usage and discrepancies following established procedures
- track and maintain personal instructional qualifications to remain compliant and current
- act as a subject-matter expert in curriculum and courseware development when required
- accept and complete examiner-related training as assigned by the Head of Training
- and serve as an invigilator during examinations.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: a type rating on the E170/190 platform
- an unrestricted FAA ATP certificate
- at least two years of experience within an FAA Part 121 or Part 135 program
- the ability and willingness to work night shifts as required
- a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- approximately two to five years of relevant experience
- successful completion of all Airline Transport Pilot Licence written examinations
- and satisfaction of the minimum instructor qualification and experience requirements of the applicable regulatory authority. Candidates need a working knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong customer-service orientation, the ability to concentrate and perform effectively in a fast-paced training environment, adaptability to change, and fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- an existing instructor qualification or rating issued by a regulatory authority, a qualification meeting the requirements for Simulator Instructor designation, and an additional A320 or B737 type rating.
