About This Role
Emirates is recruiting young Emirati candidates for a fully sponsored National Cadet Pilot Programme based at the Emirates Flight Training Academy in Dubai. The ab-initio programme starts from zero flying hours and progresses through ground school, flight and simulator training, type rating, and line training before participants become First Officers flying Emirates widebody aircraft. The programme includes approximately four years of training and development and leads to a Commercial Pilot Licence with Frozen ATPL, Multi-Instrument Rating, MCC, Jet Orientation Course certificates, and a UAE GCAA-approved Frozen Air Transport Pilot Licence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participants complete the four-phase National Cadet Programme.
- During approximately 12 months of ground school at Emirates Flight Training Academy, they study using advanced technology and virtual reality.
- They then complete approximately 274 hours of flight and simulator experience during around 12 months of flight training, progressing toward a Commercial Pilot Licence with Frozen ATPL, Multi-Instrument Rating, MCC, and Jet Orientation Course certificates.
- The approximately three-month type-rating phase involves conversion and type-rating training at Emirates Training College.
- During approximately eight months of line training, cadets operate on the Emirates widebody aircraft for which they have been trained and complete the line-training requirements for the UAE GCAA-approved Frozen Air Transport Pilot Licence.
- After completing the programme, they progress as First Officers flying Emirates aircraft across the airline's international network.
What We Offer
The programme is fully sponsored for at least four years and covers training costs, training materials, accommodation, uniforms, and three daily meals.During ground school and flight training at Emirates Flight Training Academy, meals and accommodation are provided in addition to the stated salary.The listed basic pay and fixed allowances are AED 6,365 during ground school, AED 6,365 during flight training, AED 18,335 during type rating, AED 31,745 during line training, and AED 52,105 as a First Officer.
Requirements
- Applicants must be Emirati nationals who have completed National Service before joining, hold a valid UAE passport and Khulasat Al Qaid, meet the minimum height of 160 cm, and be medically fit with a BMI of 29 or less. High school applicants must be 18–21 years old, have at least an 80% score, come from the scientific stream, and have studied chemistry, physics, or mathematics in their final year. Degree-holder applicants must be 22–26 years old and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in a scientific or engineering major
- diploma and higher qualifications are included in this route. All applicants need IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each element, or TOEFL PBT 510 / IBT 65, at the time of application. The selection process includes mathematics and physics assessments, medical pre-screening at the Emirates clinic, a Compass test, mental mathematics, Aviation English, psychometric testing covering abstract and spatial reasoning, a panel interview, and a GCAA medical examination. Required application documents include an updated CV, highest education certificate, valid UAE passport, Emirates ID, Khulasat Al Qaid, National Service Completion Letter where applicable, and TOEFL or IELTS certification.
