About This Role
Leading Edge Aviation is recruiting a Multi Engine Flight Instructor for its training academy at the Oxford campus (London Oxford Airport). The instructor delivers high-standard VFR or IFR flight and simulator training (depending on experience) to a growing student body on Diamond DA42 aircraft and modern simulators, across both integrated and modular courses covering UK CAA and EASA licences. The academy emphasises holistic training and offers established in-house development pathways, including gaining instrument ratings and progression into management roles. The position is available on either a part-time or full-time (37.5 hours) basis and reports to the Chief Flight Instructor.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Flight training: deliver high-quality, engaging, standardised flight training
- ensure course standards, training requirements and objectives are taught properly and on time, following direction from the Head of Training and Chief Flight Instructor and their deputies
- manage student progress and report deficiencies to the CFI
- complete non-flying assignments including Duty Instructor and classroom briefings, guiding students through the course and reporting issues promptly
- identify improvements to practical instruction and training standards to continuously improve safety and quality
- monitor the technical status, serviceability and cleanliness of aircraft and simulators, reporting discrepancies and confirming equipment is airworthy and suitable
- comply fully with the Company FCOM and ensure students understand and follow SOPs
- and mentor and support peers. Flight safety: promote safe behaviour on the ground and in the air in line with company safety policies
- teach and uphold flight-safety principles across the academy
- actively participate in the Safety Management System including filing Air Safety Reports and attending safety briefings
- and adhere to any additional safety standards at home or third-party airports. Administration: accurately maintain your own logbook per company and national regulations
- complete student training records and check student logbooks as required
- attend administrative, standardisation and instructor-development meetings and in-service training
- take part in wider company life such as open days and events

Requirements
- Prerequisite requirements: a UK CAA FCL, with EASA FCL or EASA FCL900 desirable
- an FI(A) rating with a & b privileges, and FI(A) d, e, g privileges desirable
- a Class 1 medical from the relevant authority valid for at least 6 months
- and an MEP (Land) class rating. Further requirements: a passion for aviation
- consistently high personal and professional standards
- keeping licence, ratings and medical current in line with company and aviation-authority requirements
- the ability to work independently and on own initiative
- strong report-writing, systems and IT skills
- a flexible approach with willingness to work shifts per the established rota
