About This Role
Leading Edge Aviation is recruiting a Multi Engine Flight Instructor for its growing training campus at Alhama de Murcia, Spain. The instructor will teach motivated ab-initio students on the academy's own fleet, delivering both integrated and modular EASA and UK CAA licence courses, and providing expert instruction in either VFR or IFR flying depending on the candidate's experience. The base benefits from good weather and long daylight hours, allowing maximum flying through the summer, with a reduced schedule operated over the winter months. The role is offered on either a part-time or full-time basis and applicants are asked to state their preference when applying. Leading Edge emphasises instructor career progression, with established in-house pathways to develop instructing qualifications, gain instrument ratings and move into management positions. Duties & Responsibilities
- Flight training: deliver high-quality, engaging and standardised flight training
- ensure course standards, training requirements and objectives are taught properly and on time under the direction of the Head of Training (HoT), the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) and their deputies
- manage student progress and report any deficiencies to the CFI
- complete all non-flying assignments, including Duty Instructor shifts and classroom briefings, managing students through the course and reporting issues promptly
- identify improvements to practical instruction and training standards and work with those responsible to continuously improve safety and quality within the academy
- monitor the technical and internal status and cleanliness of all aircraft and simulators used for training, reporting discrepancies and verifying that equipment is airworthy and suitable for training or operating
- comply fully with the orders in the company FCOM and ensure students understand and comply with those SOPs
- and complete other reasonable duties directed by the HoT and CFI. Flight safety: promote safe behaviour among students, peers and staff at all times on the ground and in the air in full compliance with Leading Edge Aviation's safety policies
- ensure students are taught and maintain the principles and practices of flight safety
- participate actively in the company Safety Management System, including filing Air Safety Reports (ASRs), attending safety briefings and remaining vigilant for unsafe behaviour or actions
- and adhere to any other safety standards issued from time to time, whether at the home base or at third-party airports. Administration: accurately maintain your own logbook in line with company and national regulations
- complete student training records properly and promptly and check student logbooks as required
- attend all administrative, standardisation and instructor development meetings and in-service training as programmed
- take part in wider company life such as open days and events when requested
- and demonstrate and uphold the company's core values in all actions, decisions and interactions.
What We Offer

Requirements
- Prerequisite requirements are an EASA FCL licence (a UK CAA FCL or UK CAA FCL900 licence is desirable in addition), an FI(A) instructor rating with the a and b privileges (FI(A) d, e and g privileges are desirable), a Class 1 medical certificate from the related authority valid for at least six months, and a MEP (Land) multi-engine piston class rating. No total-time, PIC or instructional-hour minimum is published. Other requirements are a passion for aviation
