About This Role
The Boeing Company is hiring an Experienced or Senior Military Derivatives Test Pilot for Boeing Test and Evaluation at Boeing Field in Seattle. The role supports the Military Transport division of Boeing Flight Operations, which develops and flight-tests military derivatives of various Boeing commercial aircraft for U.S. and foreign military customers. The work may involve communications, surveillance, self-defense, aerial refueling, military cargo and airdrop, and weapons-delivery systems, with responsibilities spanning experimental, prototype, new-production, and modified-production aircraft.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The test pilot will plan and conduct ground, flight, and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype, new-production, and modified-production aircraft. Testing is intended to determine system functionality, aircraft performance, structural integrity, and aircraft certification status. The position contributes to technical reports, flight manuals, and flight reports
- assists with evaluation of flight data covering system performance, aircraft handling, and equipment malfunctions
- participates in aircraft design and recommends design changes based on operational considerations
- and collaborates on marketing, customer evaluation, and demonstration activities. Travel is required and is expected to vary from 5% to 20% depending on specific program activity.

Requirements
- Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology including manufacturing technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a directly related non-U.S. equivalent qualification
- the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance requiring U.S. citizenship
- military flight-test experience in transport-category airplanes
- a Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements
- and a current FAA Class II medical certificate or the ability to obtain one. Preferred qualifications include five or more years of military flight-test experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, graduation from military test pilot school, flight-test experience in the KC-46, P-8, or similar aircraft, an active U.S. Secret clearance, prior aerial-refueling qualification or certification-test experience, Boeing commercial-model type ratings, and experience with aircraft-certification processes and FAA and Department of Defense requirements. The candidate must also satisfy Boeing's drug-testing, conflict-of-interest, pilot-records-database, export-control, and security-clearance requirements. Boeing states that U.S. person status is required for export-control compliance and that it will not sponsor employment visas.
