About This Role
Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is hiring a Military Derivatives Production Pilot for the Military Transport division of Boeing Flight Operations, based in Seattle, WA at Boeing Field. The division develops and flight tests military derivatives of Boeing commercial aircraft for the US military branches and foreign militaries worldwide. The pilot's primary responsibility is to plan and conduct KC-46 and P-8 production and acceptance test flights, lead the production acceptance process, and identify, document and help resolve flight deficiencies. The team is recruiting at both Experienced (P3) and Senior (P4) levels, and the pilot serves as Pilot-in-Command.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct production and acceptance test flights on military derivative aircraft, and demonstrate or lead the production acceptance process.
- Identify and document flight deficiencies and coordinate their resolution.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct aircraft delivery, ferry, support and functional test flights on both production and non-production aircraft.
- Serve as Pilot-in-Command.
- Travel of roughly 5-20% is required depending on specific program activity.

Requirements
- ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship for this clearance)
- a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work
- a record of being tracked as a Pilot-in-Command, Instructor Pilot or Maintenance Test Pilot
- a Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements
- a current FAA Class II medical certificate or the ability to obtain one
- and large-aircraft experience (for example C-17, P-8 or KC-46). The role also requires meeting U.S. export-control compliance as a "U.S. Person" (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee) under 22 C.F.R. §120.62, and successful candidates must pass a Conflict of Interest assessment, pilot records database screening and drug/alcohol testing
Preferred Qualifications
- five or more years of related work experience (Level 4) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- current and qualified as a KC-46 or P-8 Pilot-in-Command
- qualified as a KC-46 or P-8 instructor and/or functional check flight pilot
- an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
- type ratings in Boeing commercial model aircraft
- a bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field
- aviation safety officer background
- and experience with ground and flight test procedures.
