About This Role
Perimeter Aviation LP is seeking a Metro Captain at its Winnipeg, Manitoba location. The Canadian operator is a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation, has approximately 900 employees and operates a fleet of 45+ aircraft, including Metro, Merlin and Dash 8 aircraft, with scheduled passenger and freight service to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, 24/7 North American charter flying and medical evacuation services. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 703/704 Captain transports thousands of passengers each year and makes safety the first priority while also considering passenger comfort and on-time performance. The position covers flight planning, aircraft inspections, passenger briefings, cargo handling, flight watch and post-flight records under the company's Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Commercial Pilot License, Category 1 Medical and current Group 1 Instrument Rating; an ATPL with 500 hours on Metro aircraft is preferred, along with the ability to obtain applicable security clearances and authorizations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the Metro Captain transports thousands of passengers and conducts each flight with safety as the first priority while considering passenger comfort and on-time performance.
- The Captain must conduct flights in strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual and Company Operations Manual.
- Pre-flight preparation and calculations include completing the Operational Flight Plan, reviewing weather and NOTAMs, determining fuel and oil requirements, completing weight and balance calculations, and signing and accepting the manifest.
- The Captain must ensure the aeroplane pre-flight inspection is completed before every departure, load, unload and secure cargo and freight as required, and brief passengers in accordance with the SOP.
- The role includes completing Type C flight watch and all post-flight duties, including the post-flight aeroplane inspection, notifying or confirming the Company's whereabouts of the aeroplane when away from base, recording flight times and recording any defects.
- The pilot must continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada qualification standards for a pilot and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- The minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a Commercial Pilot License, a Category 1 Medical and a current Group 1 Instrument Rating.
- An ATPL with 500 hours on Metro aircraft is preferred.
- The pilot must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
- Pilots must be fluent in English and demonstrate effective verbal and listening comprehension.
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is considered an asset.
