About This Role
Everts Air is hiring a First Officer to operate the MD-80 out of Anchorage, Alaska (6111 Lockheed Avenue). The First Officer is administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot and functionally responsible to the Captain of the assigned flight, and must safely operate the aircraft in accordance with all Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and the applicable manuals, flight procedures, letters of instruction, and operations bulletins. The role supports both cargo and passenger operations. Compensation is $115 per block hour on a full-time, non-exempt basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Upon assignment of a flight, ensure legal proficiency and adequate rest
- carry and verify current airway and airport charts for the route before departure
- aid the Captain in preflight preparation and perform a visual inspection of the airplane prior to departure
- assist the Captain with all checklists
- make normal radio contacts and position reports when acting as pilot monitoring
- secondarily assume all responsibilities of the Captain and perform other duties as directed. For passenger operations, assist the flight attendant with escorting, enplaning, and deplaning passengers. Monitor and supervise fuel servicing, and supervise or assist cargo loading — verifying that the load matches the load schedule/plan, that cargo is properly secured, and that neither the aircraft nor the cargo is damaged during handling. Audit the trip envelope at the completion of a flight or series of flights, ensure all required documents are present, and initial the envelope checklist. Attend annual recurrent training, complete assigned Computer Based Training on time, and maintain 90-day currency.

Requirements
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
- current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- 2,000 hours total time, 500 hours multi-engine land (MEL), and 500 hours jet or turboprop
- professional demeanor and appearance
- current U.S. passport
- able to obtain airport security clearance
- able to communicate in English
- authorized to work in the U.S.
- and a valid ID/driver's license.
