About This Role
Jet Aviation is hiring a Lead Captain to operate the Gulfstream G700 out of San Jose, California, in an onsite, worldwide-travel private/business aviation role. The Lead Captain acts as Pilot in Command with ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional operation of assigned flights, while also leading, mentoring and developing crew members and representing the Jet Aviation brand to clients. The position combines line flying with crew leadership, safety-culture ownership and administrative responsibilities in a demanding, discretion-focused private aviation environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot in Command, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights, including pre-flight and post-flight inspections, filing flight plans, and analyzing weather and route conditions to make informed decisions.
- Mentor and guide crew members to foster professional growth, conduct performance reviews, and coordinate schedules and training to maintain seamless operations.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems to operate with precision, manage flight plans and adapt to changing conditions.
- Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to best practices, conducting passenger briefings, and promptly addressing aircraft discrepancies in collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Manage trip documentation, maintain aircraft manuals, assist in crew hiring, and represent Jet Aviation professionally in all internal and external interactions.

Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and an FAA First Class Medical are required.
- Candidates must have five years of aviation experience with 3,500 hours total fixed-wing time, including 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command, 1,500 hours multi-engine, 500 hours turbojet, 500 hours turbine, 100 hours night and 75 hours simulated instrument.
- The role requires the flexibility to work a variable schedule to meet flight mission profiles and the willingness to travel extensively worldwide with no restrictions.
- A high school diploma and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record are required.
- A college degree is preferred, alongside strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, a quality-driven mindset, and a proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving handled with integrity and discretion.
