About This Role
Jet Aviation is hiring a Lead Captain for a dedicated Gulfstream G650 operation based in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The role blends operational leadership with active line flying: the Lead Captain serves as the critical link between Jet Aviation, the flight crew, and the client, promoting operational excellence, safety, service quality, and a high-performing team culture while retaining full flight-deck duties. The position carries managerial and mentoring responsibilities but does not override the authority of the designated Pilot-in-Command on any given flight; the Lead Captain also acts as a professional ambassador for Jet Aviation at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leadership and client management: serve as the primary point of contact for the Client's Office to ensure effective communication and service delivery
- lead and support crew recruitment, development, and performance management
- foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture
- mentor newly appointed Lead Captains and support crew integration
- and collaborate with Flight Operations, Crew Planning, and Client Aviation Services to ensure seamless operations. Operational oversight: oversee crew training, scheduling, and annual-leave planning
- review and approve aircraft-related expenses, invoices, and crew expense claims
- support complex trip planning and operational decision-making
- and monitor aircraft documentation, regulatory approvals, and operational compliance. Flight duties: ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft at all times
- maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, company procedures, and the Flight Operations Manual (FOM)
- ensure passenger, crew, and aircraft safety throughout all phases of flight
- maintain accurate operational records and submit reports as required
- and uphold the highest standards of professionalism as a representative of Jet Aviation.
Requirements
- Minimum requirements: a valid FAA or EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or equivalent
- a current Gulfstream G650 type rating
- demonstrated experience operating the Gulfstream G650
- and flight experience and currency sufficient to meet all regulatory and operational requirements for commercial operations. Candidates must have proven leadership experience within a corporate, business aviation, or managed-aircraft environment, with strong interpersonal, stakeholder-management, and communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with high-profile clients and senior internal stakeholders. The role also demands the ability to lead teams, make sound operational decisions, and maintain composure in a dynamic operating environment, alongside a strong commitment to safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
