Dynamic Aviation is recruiting for a dual King Air Pilot/Mechanic position based at Bridgewater Airpark in Bridgewater, Virginia. Candidates begin as mechanics and transfer into the Pilot/Mechanic dual role, combining single-pilot Captain operations with aircraft maintenance to meet company requirements and customer needs. The flying work includes safe, professional King Air operation, Pilot Mechanic in Command decision-making, accurate flight in relation to dispersal criteria, base support, customer and pilot communication, and disciplined records and reporting; the maintenance work covers component cleaning, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance. Dynamic Aviation describes its broader work as including aircraft modification supporting service members overseas, geographical mapping for scientific research, and suppression of large wildfires on the West Coast. Compensation is listed at $27.16-$40.36 per hour for certified mechanics and $22.40-$37.545 per hour for uncertified mechanics, with starting pay determined by experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- As a single-pilot Captain, the employee will pilot the King Air safely and professionally and function as Pilot Mechanic in Command, making safe decisions to complete the work.
- Flying must be accurate in relation to dispersal criteria.
- The pilot/mechanic will offer constructive flight-related input to the base, take personal responsibility for record keeping, complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports—including maintenance records and timesheets—accurately and on time, follow directions, remain on task, and communicate aircraft issues to customers and pilots.
- Maintenance duties include disassembling and cleaning aircraft components and parts, organizing and maintaining the shop floor and work environment so it is clear of clutter or debris, performing routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance, inspecting aircraft and systems, reading and understanding maintenance manuals and their requirements, and troubleshooting and repairing systems.

Requirements
- The qualifications require an FAA Commercial, Instrument, and Multi-Engine license, a minimum of 1,200 hours of total flight time, the ability to qualify for single-pilot operations while working in a multi-crew environment, relocation to Bridgewater, Virginia, the ability to work as a team member, and a high school education. They also call for prior mechanical experience and technical aptitude, plus experience working with hands to repair machines and to troubleshoot, maintain, and inspect all aircraft systems, including electrical, sheet metal, general airframe, and powerplant systems. The employee must provide their own tools, with a tools listing to be provided, and must be able to crawl in and out of tight spaces
- work comfortably at elevated heights of at least 40 feet for extended periods
- lift, balance, and carry 50 pounds
- work in exterior weather conditions
- and work in close proximity to other people. Multi-engine turboprop experience is preferred, as are an FAA A&P maintenance certificate, fluency in Spanish, PT6 engine experience specifically with the King Air 90, and prior cross-cultural and foreign-language experience.
