About This Role
Jet Aviation Staffing is recruiting, on behalf of an external client, a full-time Citation XLS Captain / Pilot in Command to join an FAA Part 135 flight operation. The role is commutable, with Central or Eastern Time zone preference, and follows an 8-days-on/6-days-off schedule. The successful candidate will be a safety-focused aviation professional who provides strong leadership, effective crew resource management, sound aeronautical decision-making, efficient aircraft operation, and a first-class passenger experience while complying with FAA regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Pilot in Command on Citation XLS flights operated under FAR Part 135 and exercise sound judgment while maintaining the highest standards of flight safety.
- Conduct thorough flight planning, weather evaluation, aircraft inspections, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company manuals, Operations Specifications, and applicable procedures.
- Lead and maintain effective Crew Resource Management, coordinate with Dispatch, Maintenance, Operations, and other company personnel, and complete required aircraft, flight, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain professional, customer-focused relationships with passengers and company representatives.
- Participate in recurrent training, proficiency checks, safety meetings, and company programs as required, while supporting a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.

Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, an appropriate FAA medical certificate, a Citation XLS/XLS+ PIC type rating, and compliance with applicable 14 CFR Part 135 PIC experience and qualification requirements.
- Candidates must also meet all applicable FAA currency, training, and checking requirements and demonstrate strong knowledge of IFR operations, weather, flight planning, and Part 135 regulations.
- The role requires excellent communication, CRM, and decision-making skills, a professional appearance and demeanor, the ability to work variable schedules including weekends, holidays, and overnight trips, and legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Preferred qualifications include previous Part 135 PIC experience, Citation XLS/XLS+ experience, corporate or charter aviation experience, 3,000 or more total flight hours, 1,000 or more hours of turbine time, 1,000 or more hours of multiengine time, and 250 or more hours of time in type.
