About This Role
CAE is recruiting Instructor Pilots for its evergreen talent network in Phoenix. The role delivers simulator and ground-school training and leads clients as a subject-matter expert through their pilot training. Instructors prepare pilots for licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications while conducting professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings. Subject to business needs, designated instructors are expected to qualify as Training Center Evaluators and customer contract check airmen after 1.5 or more years.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Instructor Pilot delivers flight training in a flight simulator and ground school in accordance with the appropriate regulatory agency, CAE-approved curriculum, and customer requirements.
- The role acts as a subject-matter expert who leads clients through their training and provides simulator, flight, or classroom instruction on one or more assigned aircraft types for the issue of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Instructors conduct thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
- They complete training records, recommend remedial training when necessary, track their own instructional qualifications and activity, and perform other required administrative duties.
- When required, the Instructor Pilot also contributes subject-matter expertise to the creation of curricula and courseware.
- After 1.5 or more years, designated instructors are expected, based on business needs, to qualify as Training Center Evaluators and customer contract check airmen.

Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include an unrestricted ATP certificate or completion of the ATP Written, Part 121 experience, and 3,000 hours of total flight time.
- Candidates must have basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs, participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program, possess strong communication skills and a passion for teaching, and be authorized to live and work in the United States.
- Experience flying business aircraft is highly desired.
- An unrestricted PIC type rating is preferred.
- The Preferred Qualifications section states that only one is required and lists CRJ, E170, and B737 type ratings.
- The role also requires physical dexterity for hand-eye coordination and fine motor tasks, the ability to sit in a confined space for 4–6 hours with limited breaks, the ability to stand for as many as 10 hours with limited breaks, and the ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn.
- The ideal candidate demonstrates professional character, creates a welcoming and successful learning environment, communicates effectively at multiple levels in spoken and written form, provides continuous red-carpet customer service, tailors training to a diverse customer base, and maintains accurate and timely records in accordance with CAE policy and FAA requirements.
