About This Role
Flair Airlines is hiring an In-Flight Director (IFD), the designated cabin leader on assigned flights, for an on-site position based in Montreal (YUL). Reporting to the Manager, In-Flight Operations & Performance, the IFD leads and coaches the Flight Attendant team while ensuring cabin safety, regulatory compliance, and onboard service delivery in line with the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), company procedures, and service standards. The role requires a minimum of six months of Flight Attendant experience plus completion of Flight Attendant Initial Training to Transport Canada standards. Bilingual ability, particularly in French, is considered an asset.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the designated cabin leader and primary liaison to the Captain for matters related to cabin safety, regulatory compliance, and onboard service.
- Obtain and communicate relevant flight information, including delays, special passenger requirements, and operational considerations, so the cabin crew is prepared for the flight.
- Conduct pre-flight briefings to confirm crew readiness, safety awareness, assigned responsibilities, and required service standards.
- Organize and direct cabin service in accordance with established procedures, regulatory requirements, and onboard service standards.
- Promote and support onboard sales initiatives in accordance with the Customer Experience Manual and established performance expectations.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to Flight Attendants and document performance discussions per established procedures.
- Lead cabin operations during irregular operations, onboard incidents, and other operational situations, ensuring safety procedures are followed and passengers are appropriately supported.
- Ensure required flight documentation and reports are completed and submitted within established timelines.
- Maintain appropriate crew conduct and standards during layovers and assignments away from base.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Captain or In-Flight leadership to support operational and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Education: completion of secondary school is required
- completion of Flight Attendant Initial Training in accordance with Transport Canada standards is required. Experience: minimum of 6 months of experience as a Flight Attendant is required
- experience in a multi-crew cabin environment with an understanding of cabin operations, safety procedures, and crew responsibilities
- demonstrated leadership or direction of others in an operational or team-based environment
- coaching/performance-feedback/peer-support experience is an asset
- experience operating within a CARs 705 environment is preferred
- experience supporting irregular operations, onboard incidents, or challenging passenger situations is an asset. Skills and abilities: strong leadership to direct, support, and supervise cabin crew in a safety-sensitive environment
- strong knowledge of cabin safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and onboard service standards
- strong verbal and written communication with Flight Attendants, the flight deck, passengers, and operational teams
- sound judgment and decision-making
- strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills
- ability to provide clear, constructive coaching and feedback
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail for flight documentation and reporting
- and composure and effective leadership under time-sensitive or high-pressure situations. Bilingual proficiency, particularly in French, is considered an asset. Other requirements: must hold a valid Canadian passport
- must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- must maintain all required Flight Attendant qualifications to operate as an In-Flight Director
- a clear criminal record check and satisfactory references are required
- and must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
