About This Role
HOP! is recruiting airline First Officers, the second-ranking member of a flight crew composed of a Captain and a First Officer. The role is highly demanding and requires passion for flying, enthusiasm, commitment, strong intellectual, psychological and physical abilities, and good English proficiency. The First Officer shares responsibility for passenger safety and performs aircraft control, navigation, radio communications management and technical monitoring duties. Successful candidates begin their HOP! pilot career as First Officers and may later access Captain selection after gaining several years of experience. Recruitment includes ENAC psychotechnical and psychomotor testing, personality inventories, a group exercise, an individual interview, a possible flight-simulator assessment and a HOP! selection interview.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The First Officer is the second member of the flight crew in the chain of command, operating alongside the Captain.
- The role carries primary responsibility for passenger safety and includes flying the aircraft, conducting navigation, managing radio communications and monitoring the aircraft's technical condition.
- Airline flying at HOP! requires sustained professionalism, enthusiasm, commitment, intellectual ability, psychological resilience, physical fitness and effective use of English.
- The position is the entry point for a HOP! pilot career, with the possibility of progressing to Captain selection after several years of experience.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold either a valid ATPL or a valid CPL/IRME, together with a valid ATPL theory qualification issued by an ATO certified by an EU Member State.
- A valid Class 1 medical certificate is required.
- Candidates must be French nationals, nationals of another EU Member State, or Swiss nationals.
- Applicants who are not French nationals must hold FCL055 French language proficiency at Level 6 and must also demonstrate a current FCL055/055D language-proficiency level of at least 5.
- Candidates must not have failed training with HOP!, Air France or Transavia.
- Previous experience on CS-25 or CS-23 aircraft is an advantage, and applicants must hold an attestation of Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training.
- A TOEIC score of at least 850, obtained less than two years before the selection date, is required.
- Since 20 December 2019, pilots who do not hold an initial CS-25 type rating must provide an attestation of EASA Advanced UPRT training.
- Applicants must submit certified copies, made under their own declaration, of the last two pages of their flight logbook together with an employer certificate validating the recorded flight hours.
- Only complete applications submitted through the online offer will be reviewed.
- The selection process comprises Psy 1 ENAC psychotechnical and psychomotor tests, followed where applicable by Psy 2 personality inventories, a group exercise and an individual interview, with a possible flight-simulator assessment before the HOP! selection interview.
- Candidates are invited to Psy 2 only according to their Psy 1 results, and the HOP! interview is conditional on passing Psy 2 and, where applicable, the simulator assessment.
