About This Role
Fly Alliance is seeking a professional Gulfstream Second in Command to support safe, efficient Part 135 flight operations. The position is based on the East Coast with a 17-days-on, 13-days-off rotation and extensive travel, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Candidates should demonstrate sound judgment, teamwork, professionalism, strong communication, safety awareness, and a commitment to exceptional passenger service while developing their career within the Gulfstream fleet.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as Second in Command and assist the Captain with the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights. Coordinate with the Captain and flight crew throughout all phases of operation
- assist with flight planning using weather information, NOTAMs, airport data, and other operational resources
- conduct preflight inspections
- help determine aircraft airworthiness
- and support fuel planning, weight and balance, load manifests, and required documentation. Operate the aircraft safely under the Captain’s direction and in accordance with FAA regulations, company policies, manuals, and standard operating procedures. Communicate weather, turbulence, and other operational factors affecting the flight, crew, or passengers. Assist with the handling of passengers, baggage, cargo, and aircraft at terminals and FBOs
- complete flight documentation and operational records accurately and on time
- maintain qualifications, currency, medical certification, and training
- and support effective Crew Resource Management. The SIC will communicate professionally with the Captain, Flight Operations, Maintenance Control, Crew Scheduling, and other operational teams, support Fly Alliance’s Safety Management System and safety culture, maintain a professional and hospitable appearance, participate in ongoing training and development, and perform other flight-related duties assigned by the Captain, Fleet Captain, or Chief Pilot.

Requirements
- Applicants must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating and a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- They must meet Fly Alliance and FAA minimum flight-hour and qualification requirements, remain qualified and current for assigned duties, and successfully complete all company-required training.
- Previous Part 135 charter experience is preferred, as are Gulfstream experience and an applicable type rating.
- The role requires strong knowledge of FAA regulations and professional flight operations, effective Crew Resource Management, clear communication, sound decision-making, and the ability to remain calm during changing or emergency situations.
- A high school diploma or GED, authorization to work in the United States, and East Coast residence are required, with preference for candidates near ORL, OPF, TEB, BED, or Providence.
- Candidates must also satisfy applicable FAA medical and physical requirements and be able to work around aircraft, ramps, hangars, and flight lines, including handling baggage or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
