About This Role
Solairus Aviation is hiring a full-time Gulfstream G550 Captain based in the New York metropolitan area. The Captain commands the Gulfstream G550 on business-aviation flights for Solairus clients, operating safely and professionally in keeping with Solairus Aviation's culture of safety, service and integrity. The role suits an experienced, collaborative pilot who seeks excellence in every aspect of performance and supports a team dedicated to meeting clients' travel needs. The position works on an on-call basis, includes recurrent ICAO international procedures training each year, and requires living within a two-hour drive of the New York Metro airports or a willingness to relocate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Gulfstream G550 and for conducting every flight in a safe and prudent manner. Duties include reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status
- completing a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual
- checking weather and facilities along the route and at all airports to be used, including alternates
- ensuring each flight is conducted in accordance with Solairus Aviation's policies and procedures and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
- ensuring the safety of all passengers, aircraft and crew
- and accurately completing all trip paperwork in line with current procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum flight experience: 3,000 hours total time, 1,500 hours PIC, 1,500 hours multi-engine land (MEL), 500 hours MEL PIC, 500 hours turbojet time and 250 hours instrument.
- Candidates must be type rated on the Gulfstream G550 or a comparable aircraft and hold a first-class medical.
- The role also requires availability to work on an on-call basis, the ability to complete ICAO international procedures training annually, and a primary residence within a two-hour drive of the New York Metro area airports (or a willingness to relocate).
