About This Role
SkyShare is hiring a home-based, GV-qualified Captain for its Salt Lake City Part 135 flight department, operating both the Gulfstream G450 and GV. The role combines safety- and compliance-focused flight operations with premium customer service for a private aviation business providing fractional aircraft ownership, charter, and managed aircraft services. The aircraft is based in SLC, and the successful pilot must live in the Central, Midwest, or Western United States near an airport offering daily direct flights to Salt Lake City. The position requires an adaptable, professional, safety-first captain who can operate across demanding schedules, multiple time zones, changing weather conditions, and international missions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the G450 and GV as Captain while ensuring strict compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, checklists, and operating best practices.
- Perform duty periods of up to 14 hours, often crossing multiple time zones and navigating significantly different weather conditions.
- Participate in a 15/13 rotation that includes days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and remain available for overnight trips that may require spending several days and nights away from home in hotels.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients through professional communication and presentation, make sound and accountable decisions, solve operational challenges proactively, and maintain a safety-first approach in changing environments.
- The role also requires effective sleep management, occasional movement of items up to 80 pounds, and the handling and care of animals before, during, and after flights.
What We Offer
The position pays $230,000 annually and follows a 15/13 rotation. Training includes a 12-month repayment contract broken down quarterly. Requirements
- Applicants must be current and qualified in the GV series and hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate category and class.
- The required flight experience is at least 5,000 hours total flight time, including 1,000 PIC hours in the G450/550 and/or GV, 3,000 hours as PIC, 2,000 hours of multi-engine time, and 1,500 hours of jet time.
- Additional qualifications include a valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate, an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, a valid U.S. passport and driver's license, and current IFR knowledge and experience.
- Prior Part 135 experience and international, transatlantic, and transpacific experience are required.
- The pilot must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to pass TSA background checks and obtain an appropriate SIDA badge when applicable.
