About This Role
Air India is hiring a Ground Instructor (Technical) for its Flight Training Organisation (FTO) in Amravati, India. The role delivers DGCA CPL/ATPL ground (theoretical) training to cadets, develops and updates the ground-school curriculum, adheres to quality norms, provides inputs on student exam registration, and maintains training records in line with regulatory requirements. Instructors are expected to adopt new training technologies and report to the Chief Ground Instructor (CGI).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and update the CPL/ATPL ground-training curriculum in line with DGCA regulations and industry best practice
- deliver ground training to cadets per the approved syllabus and standardised training procedures
- mentor cadets and help develop professional conduct, discipline, leadership and aviation professionalism throughout the programme
- maintain training records and submit periodic progress reports to the Chief Ground Instructor (CGI)
- ensure compliance with DGCA requirements for ground training and examinations
- prepare and update training materials, assessments, SOPs and other training documentation
- maintain training aids and classroom resources to ensure training quality
- and support continuous improvement of training standards and learning outcomes. Additional standalone-project or regular responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Qualification requirements are defined subject-by-subject under DGCA CAR Section 7, Series D, Part I, with alternative pathways for each subject. Air Navigation: hold or have held a CPL/ATPL, or be an Air Navigation instructor from the Defence services, or hold/have held a Flight Navigator Licence, or be an Air Traffic Controller from AAI/Defence forces, plus 2+ years' experience as a Ground Instructor. Aviation Meteorology: CPL/ATPL, or a qualified Meteorologist from the Defence services or IMD, or an Air Traffic Controller from AAI/Defence forces. Aircraft Technical (General and Specific): CPL/ATPL/AME licence, or a degree or equivalent in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/Communication Engineering, or a QFI/QNI from the Defence forces. Air Regulations and Radio Telephony: CPL/ATPL, or an Air Traffic Controller from AAI/Defence forces. A minimum of 2+ years' experience as a Ground Instructor in FTOs/ATOs/Defence training organisations/aviation training organisations is required
- experience in training/airline operations or management roles with leading airlines is desired. Required skills include strong leadership, approachable interpersonal skills, and motivational, empathetic communication. No flight-hour minimums are stated on the page.
