About This Role
Eastern Air Express is hiring contract Ground Instructors for Flight Operations to support fleet growth and deliver classroom and simulator training for Captains and First Officers on the B737. The role reports to the Manager of Flight Operations Training, works closely with the Chief Pilot, coordinates with external simulator and training-resource vendors, and may interact with the FAA. The instructor is responsible for ensuring flight crews are trained, qualified, and competent in accordance with regulatory requirements and Eastern’s safety and performance standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Contract Ground Instructor delivers required initial, recurrent, hazardous-material, transition, and upgrade ground and simulator training in accordance with FAA and company-approved training programs, lesson plans, 14 CFR requirements, and company policies. The role uses classroom, aircraft, and simulator resources
- completes and submits student training records and certifications
- maintains pilot qualification records so daily assignments remain legal and only qualified crews are scheduled
- and provides records to Crew Records for compliance with federal regulations and PRIA or PRD requirements when applicable. The instructor may operate Part 91 flights when current and qualified and performs other duties assigned by the Chief Pilot, Manager of Flight Operations Training, or Director of Operations.
Requirements
- Applicants must have detailed knowledge of flight-operations training requirements and be B737 qualified. An Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Multiengine Land and B737 Type Rating is listed, while a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant aviation field and a Flight Instructor Certificate with Aircraft Multi-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane are preferred. Three or more years of experience in a flight-operations environment using large turbojet aircraft is mandatory
- international experience and previous instructor experience under Part 121 or Part 135 are preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, confidentiality, software, independent-judgment, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, be able to travel out of state if needed, and pass a two-year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check.
