About This Role
Solairus Aviation is hiring a full-time Flight Attendant for a Global 8000 operation based at KVNY in Van Nuys, California. The role combines premium passenger service, culinary preparation, cabin management, and comprehensive onboard safety responsibilities. The successful candidate must be flexible, available for short-notice and extended deployments, and able to support changing schedules and late-night flights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality service while ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout each flight. Greet passengers, conduct preflight briefings, explain and demonstrate safety equipment, direct and assist passengers during emergencies, administer basic first aid including CPR and AED support, secure the cabin in accordance with federal regulations before takeoff and landing, and reassure passengers during turbulence or other unsettling situations. Ensure that food, beverages, blankets, reading materials, emergency equipment, and other supplies are onboard in sufficient quantities for the trip and passenger count. Shop for specially requested passenger items, operate the audio and video systems, and operate all cabin management and galley equipment. Inspect, clean, and stock the cabin, galley, lavatories, and flight deck after each leg
- ensure the aircraft remains flight-ready, clean, and fully stocked
- conduct periodic cabin checks
- and complete all preflight, inflight, and post-flight paperwork.
Requirements
- Applicants must have knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, First Aid Training Certification, at least five years of Corporate Flight Attendant experience, strong culinary skills, and culinary-specific training. Annual recurrent training is required. Flight attendant-specific training from FlightSafety, FACTs, or a similar provider is preferred, with preference for candidates who completed that training within the past 12 months
- candidates without formal training may be considered but must complete initial flight attendant training before assignment. Candidates must be technologically capable, flexible, patient, detail-oriented, and able to provide excellent interpersonal and customer service. They must manage changing schedules and late-night flights, respond within two to three hours when on standby, travel worldwide without restriction, deploy for up to 16 consecutive days, and operate the cabin management system, galley equipment, cabin features, berthing seats, and divan bed configuration. A college degree, fluency in one or more foreign languages, and experience with small children are preferred. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 or better, candidates must be able to communicate clearly and hear adequately in flight, stand for up to 14 hours with limited sitting, work in varied climates, maneuver in confined aircraft spaces, push or pull a main cabin door weighing up to 130 pounds, and repeatedly lift approximately 25 to 30 pounds from floor level to waist height.
