About This Role
CAE is seeking a Global 6500 Instructor Pilot in Dothan to deliver simulator and ground-school flight training in accordance with the applicable regulatory agency, CAE-approved curriculum, and customer requirements. The instructor will act as a subject-matter expert, lead clients through training, provide simulator and classroom instruction, conduct briefings, maintain training records, and support curriculum development. After 1.5 or more years, and subject to business needs, designated instructors are expected to qualify as Training Center Evaluators and customer-contract check airmen. The role includes a two-year training commitment, domestic and international travel, customer-focused service, security responsibilities, and work around aircraft simulators and cockpit environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver simulator, flight, and classroom instruction on one or more assigned aircraft types for the issue of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications. Conduct thorough and professional pre-flight and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards. Complete training records, recommend remedial training when necessary, and track personal instructional qualifications and activity. Act as a subject-matter expert in the creation of curricula and courseware when required, and lead clients through their training. After 1.5 or more years, when required by business needs, qualify as a Training Center Evaluator and customer-contract check airman. Comply with company security and data-protection policies, properly mark and handle information and materials, restrict access to personnel with a need to know, and protect government and proprietary information. Requirements
- Applicants must hold or meet the qualifications to receive an unrestricted ATP certificate and have a minimum of one unrestricted PIC jet type rating.
- Prior Part 142 Training Center Evaluator experience and CFII/MEI experience are recommended, while business-aircraft flying experience is a plus.
- The role requires a passion for teaching, strong spoken and written communication, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based programs, professional character, the ability to create a welcoming learning environment, effective communication across multiple organizational levels, continuous red-carpet customer service, the ability to tailor training to a diverse customer base, and meticulous recordkeeping under CAE policy and FAA requirements.
- Participation in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program is required.
- Candidates must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance, and only U.S. citizens are eligible because of U.S.
- Government contract requirements.
- A two-year training commitment is required.
- Domestic and international travel may be required, along with the ability to climb into simulator or aircraft cockpits, work around mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, heat, airborne-particle, and loud-noise hazards, sit at a computer for extended periods, perform repetitive keyboarding, and maintain composure in an aircraft seat while wearing a parachute during aerobatic flight profiles.
