About This Role
CAE USA Inc. is hiring a Global 6500 Flight Instructor/TCE at Ft Hood, Texas, within CAE’s defense and security training business, which supports military customers’ mission readiness. The role delivers simulator flight training and ground school under the applicable regulatory agency, CAE-approved curriculum and customer requirements; serves as a subject-matter expert who leads clients through training; and supports licensing, type-rating, certificate, internal-training and pilot-qualification activities. The instructor conducts professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings, maintains training and qualification records, recommends remedial training when needed, and may help create curricula and courseware. After 1.5+ years, designated instructors are expected, subject to business needs, to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator and customer contract check airman. The position carries a two-year training commitment and includes domestic and international travel, security-clearance and citizenship restrictions, and demanding simulator or cockpit physical and environmental conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Instructor Pilot delivers flight training in a flight simulator and ground school in accordance with the appropriate regulatory agency, CAE-approved curriculum and customer requirements. The instructor acts as a subject-matter expert and leads clients through their training. Duties include providing simulator, flight or classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for the issue of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates and pilot qualifications
- conducting thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards
- completing training records
- recommending remedial training when necessary
- and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity. The instructor also acts as a subject-matter expert in the creation of curricula and courseware when required. After 1.5+ years, based on business needs, designated instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator and customer contract check airman.

Requirements
- Required qualifications are holding, or meeting the qualifications to receive, an unrestricted ATP certificate and at least one unrestricted PIC jet type rating. The employee must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program, be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance, and be a U.S. citizen because of U.S. government contract requirements. The role requires compliance with company security and data-protection and usage policies, correct marking and handling of government and proprietary information, need-to-know access controls, and electronic storage of such information on company-provided resources. Additional qualifications include a passion for teaching, strong spoken and written communication across multiple levels, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs, professional character that creates a welcoming and successful learning environment, a commitment to continuous red-carpet customer service, the ability to tailor training to a diverse customer base, and careful, timely recordkeeping under CAE policy and FAA requirements. Prior Part 142 TCE experience and CFII/MEI experience are recommended, while business-aircraft flight experience is a plus. A two-year training commitment is required. - the ability to walk or climb stairs and a ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit
- stooping, bending and crawling on top of or under machinery
- and the ability to detect odors or hear noises, bangs and other sounds to identify simulator or surrounding-environment problems. The job involves office work and communication by computer, telephone and fax, physical stamina and stature to maintain composure in an airplane seat while wearing a parachute during aerobatic flight profiles, possible electrical-shock exposure from moving mechanical parts driven by high-pressure hydraulics, and exposure to extreme heat, airborne particles and loud noise. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, prolonged computer-screen review, repetitive hand and wrist movements, changing schedules and extended hours may also be required.
