About This Role
Solairus Aviation, a private aviation management company headquartered in California, is hiring a Full-Time Captain to fly the Global 6500 out of an operation based at KOXC (Waterbury-Oxford Airport) in Oxford, Connecticut. Essential duties include safe operation of the Global 6500 aircraft, reviewing maintenance status, conducting pre-flight inspections per the Aircraft Flight Manual, checking weather and alternate airports, and completing trip paperwork in accordance with Solairus policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. Qualifications listed on the posting call for 3,000 total flight hours, 1,500 PIC, 1,500 multi-engine (MEL), 500 turbojet, and 250 instrument time, plus a type rating on the Global 6500 or a comparable aircraft and a first-class medical certificate. The role requires on-call availability, annual ICAO international-procedures training, and a primary residence within a two-hour drive of KOXC or willingness to relocate. Solairus states crewmembers are paid $50,000 to $500,000 depending on geographic area, experience, equipment type, job duties, training, and assigned account, and separately highlights a 401K matching structure, employee wellness programs, and health benefits.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Essential Responsibilities/Duties Responsible for safe operation of the Global 6500 aircraft.
- Responsible for conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with, but not limited to the following items: Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft.
- The conduct of a proper pre-flight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
- A complete check of weather and facilities along the route to be flown and airports to be used, including alternate airports.
- Ensure the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of Solairus Aviation and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers, aircraft and crew.
- Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
