About This Role
Tenax Aerospace, a privately owned special mission aviation company established in 2001 and based in Ridgeland, Mississippi, is hiring pilots for its G-V programme to fly the company's modified Gulfstream V in both the Pilot-in-Command and Second-in-Command seats. Tenax has delivered specialised mission aviation programmes to the U.S. Government and private sector customers for over two decades, covering multi-mission platforms, aerial firefighting support, sensor integrations, airborne data acquisition and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance). In this role you support mission planning, aircrew mobilisation, weather decisions, airspace coordination and the safe operation of the modified Gulfstream V, and you must be able to operate independently in austere environments anywhere in the world. The job interfaces directly with domestic and foreign government representatives in support of the contract and requires a security clearance, or eligibility for clearance by the recognised authorities. The position is advertised as remote and full time at an experienced level within the Operations function, and it operates out of field locations with required travel and rotational deployment to CONUS and possibly austere OCONUS duty locations. The position has no direct reports.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support mission planning, aircrew mobilisation, weather decisions, airspace coordination and the safe operation of the company's modified Gulfstream V aircraft, operating independently in austere environments worldwide and interfacing with domestic and foreign government representatives in support of the contract.
- Fly the aircraft as Pilot in Command and as Second in Command in support of CONUS and OCONUS airborne data acquisition flight activities.
- Travel and deploy rotationally to CONUS and possibly austere OCONUS duty locations.
- Perform precise aerial survey flight operations driven by diverse sensor requirements, and carry out functional check flights.
- Comply with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Army 95-20 regulations and company flight operations and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight briefings for Tenax and customer personnel.
- Represent Tenax by supporting the customer and presenting a professional pilot image to customers and the general public.
- Provide daily communication with the Chief Pilot and Flight Operations Manager while on assignment, and carry out other flight assignments and duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma. An active Top Secret / SCI security clearance is stated as required in the minimum qualifications, and candidates must in any case be able to secure a secret-level clearance and complete pre-deployment training to governmental standards through either a USACE Deployment Center or a CONUS Replacement Center. A current FAA Multi-Engine Commercial pilot licence with Instrument Rating, and an FAA Class II Medical Certificate. Flight time: a total time of 3,000 hours, of which 1,500 hours must be multi-engine turbine time, and 500 of those 1,500 hours must be multi-engine turbojet time. In addition, 1,000 hours PIC is required, of which 300 hours must be in a similar type of aircraft. A Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit. A valid driver's licence and an international driving permit. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and to work extra hours when necessary. A current US passport and the ability to secure the international visas needed for deployment. Candidates must maintain all required pilot medical certificates, type ratings and recurrent training, must meet the minimum pilot qualifications required by the contract, and must be able to complete pre-deployment training, DOT drug testing and a medical examination to programme standards through a CONUS Replacement Center. Preferred (not required): an ATP certificate
- a Gulfstream V type rating and/or current proficiency in multi-engine turbojet large cabin aircraft
- international PIC flight experience
- prior US Government operational flight experience
- experience flying ISR, aerial mapping or airborne data collection mission profiles
- prior overseas military or government rotation experience
- familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210-1C or Army Regulation 95-20
- and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
