About This Role
CAE's Ground Based Training System (GBTS) team, operating as part of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program, is hiring a Flight Simulator Instructor in Moose Jaw, Canada. The role is aimed at experienced military pilots seeking a second or post-retirement career who want to pass their expertise to the next generation of Air Force pilots while keeping the camaraderie of the Air Force and a home-based schedule. The instructor delivers simulator and academic training to ab initio military student pilots from Canada and abroad on the Harvard II Flying Training Device (FTD), working within the NFTC Training Plan and the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide simulator instruction on the Harvard II Flying Training Device (FTD) to military student pilots in accordance with the applicable NFTC Training Plan and the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES).
- Develop specialized expertise in one of the many aviation-related academic subjects associated with military pilot training in order to create and deliver academic lectures supporting the NFTC program.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of specific Aircraft Operating Instructions, the applicable Standard Manoeuvre Manual, and NFTC pilot training syllabi.

Requirements
- Candidates need a military pilot background together with practical military pilot instructional experience and knowledge of approved pilot instructional techniques.
- The role calls for flexibility in handling tasks and projects, excellent oral and written communication and good presentation skills in English, and solid interpersonal skills.
- The successful candidate must pass a security evaluation under the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada, and CAE must be able to obtain all necessary re-transfer authorization in compliance with US ITAR regulations.
