About This Role
Atlas Air, Inc. is seeking a Flight Simulator Instructor in Miami to train flight crewmembers under the direction of the respective Fleet Captain. Depending on individual qualifications, the instructor will deliver classroom, fixed-base and full-motion simulator instruction for initial, recurrent, upgrade and differences training. The role also includes maintaining accurate training records and technical manuals, preparing training environments and materials, supporting the development of training programs and visual aids, communicating crew performance concerns or achievements, and upholding company procedures, policies and behavioral standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide flight-crew training in accordance with the Flight Operations Training Manual (FOTM) and under the direction of the respective Fleet Captain. Deliver fixed-base, full-motion flight-simulation and classroom instruction for initial, recurrent, upgrade and differences training in ground school, fixed-base and full-flight simulator settings. Complete and route crewmember training records and other documentation promptly
- prepare and check the training environment, simulator equipment, presentation media, reference materials and distributed materials before instruction
- and ensure the technical accuracy of departmental and training manuals, including aircraft systems manuals, flight handbooks, performance manuals, checklists, flight-operations manuals and operations specifications. Contribute to training programs, visual aids and other materials for classroom presentation and individual review, report concerns or exceptional crewmember performance to the Fleet Captain promptly, maintain professionalism and motivation, and maintain a high level of knowledge of company procedures and policies. The instructor must also communicate and apply company values and behavioral standards under the Code of Conduct policy and respond appropriately to known departures. Additional functions supporting crewmember training may be assigned.

Requirements
- The position requires an FAA Air Transport Pilot Certificate, excellent teaching skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- The qualifications also call for strong organizational skills, excellent computer operation knowledge and skills, a high-energy approach with multitasking ability, and demonstrated leadership skills.
- Prior airline experience is preferred.
