About This Role
Air New Zealand seeks experienced Airbus Flight Simulator Instructors to join their Flight Simulator Training team in Auckland. The role involves delivering high-quality simulator instruction to pilots undergoing initial, recurrent, and upgrade training, while conducting assessments in compliance with NZCAA Part 121 standards. Candidates must have extensive Airbus operational experience with a minimum of 3000 total flight hours, including 1500 hours as PIC on Part 121 aircraft and 750 hours PIC on multi-engine aircraft, plus current A320 type rating and instructional experience. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver flight simulator and classroom instruction to Airbus pilots
  • Support initial, recurrent and upgrade training programs
  • Conduct flight checks, assessments and evaluations in line with NZCAA Part 121 standards
  • Contribute to training program development and continuous improvement
  • Maintain training records and ensure accuracy in performance reporting
  • Collaborate with operational and training teams to uphold safety and performance standards
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to pilots

Requirements
  • Airbus family operational experience
  • Current or eligible to hold NZCAA Part 121 Flight Examiner approval
  • Current A320 type rating
  • Instructional experience in an airline environment
  • Minimum 3000 hours total flight time
  • 1500 hours pilot-in-command of a Part 121 aircraft
  • 750 hours pilot-in-command multi-engine
  • Strong instructional and mentoring capabilities
