About This Role
Joby Aviation's Flight Research team is hiring a Test Pilot in Concord, California to operate crewed and uncrewed research platforms, with primary focus on the Cessna Caravan programme. The pilot acts as airborne or remote PIC, develops test plans and cards, analyses data, writes reports and works with engineering teams on system design, human interfaces and airspace integration. Applicants need an FAA Commercial certificate with instrument-airplane rating, at least 750 PIC and 100 turbine hours, a STEM bachelor's degree, five years in aviation operations and three years of test-pilot experience. The role involves occasional deployed testing and less than 25% travel, with advertised base pay of $97,000-$167,000 plus equity, healthcare, paid leave, retirement and insurance benefits.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Act both as the airborne and remote pilot in command for various R&D aircraft platforms depending on the phase of the program.
- Uphold standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Create test plans, cards, and reports.

Requirements
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
- Instrument Airplane rating.
- A minimum of 750 hours pilot in command (PIC) flight time and 100 hours of turbine time.
