About This Role
Vista America is seeking a Flight Operations Manager to lead and support its Challenger fleet in a hybrid role involving travel to CMH, DJT, TEB, and VNY. The position combines pilot leadership, crew welfare, fleet oversight, operational decision-making, safety and regulatory compliance, client-experience monitoring, and cross-functional coordination across flight operations, maintenance, training, and support teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The Flight Operations Manager leads people-management activities, including performance management, crew calibration against company goals, bi-monthly fleet meetings, time-and-attendance administration, quarterly one-on-one reviews, recognition, and talent planning for internal changes and external hiring.
- Crew-management duties include ensuring schedule coverage and fleet balance, reviewing duty assignments and fatigue reports, safeguarding crew welfare, serving as FOM-on-Duty according to the roster, reviewing LIFUS progress, supporting the scheduled onsite Crew Support program, and ensuring simulator profiles are completed in line with training objectives.
- The role monitors sensitive flights, completes event debriefs within 48 hours, reviews AOG events, provides operational recommendations, implements flight-operations policies and procedures, verifies handover checklists and documentation distribution, monitors aircraft-equipment distribution, identifies fleet needs, issues approved fleet memoranda, collaborates with the Maintenance Operations Control function on maintenance events and MEL management, and oversees client experience elements including Wi-Fi and cabin status.
- Additional responsibilities include enforcing efficiency policies, ensuring safe and compliant flight operations, working closely with the Director of Operations and Flight Operations Administration, recommending standardization procedures, maintaining Centric, App, eCrew, EFF, and ETL compliance, using Tableau dashboards for analysis, managing ADP, SuccessFactors, and Confluence, tracking crew performance, preparing reports, maintaining priorities, and working effectively across departments and with remote teams.

Requirements
- The role requires extensive piloting experience, including international operations, a current first-class medical certificate, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unrestricted worldwide travel availability, and authorization to work in the United States.
- Applicants must have no accidents, incidents, or FAA enforcement actions within the previous five years.
- The position requires working evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays as needed to support operations, as well as maintaining at least 150 hours of flight time during the previous 365 days and 30 hours during the previous 90 days.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, reporting, cross-functional, and remote-team management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft and Google Workspace tools.
- A current Check Airman or Captain position on Challenger aircraft and previous management experience are preferred.
- FOMs must maintain a full understanding of Jet Select’s GOM, OpSpecs, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
