About This Role
FlightSafety International is hiring a Flight Instructor for its onsite Wichita Cessna location. The role delivers ground and simulator instruction for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training, develops training materials, evaluates trainee progress, maintains accurate records and instructor qualifications, and addresses training issues in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. Relocation is available for candidates who live outside the Wichita Metropolitan area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients receiving core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that support training delivery and meet client needs in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress and recommend trainees for qualification or additional training.
- Complete accurate, client-specific training records to support achievement of the requested objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance before execution.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- No minimum education requirement is stated.
- Candidates must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- The role requires an unrestricted ATP certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state.
- Candidates without an ATP must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required.
- FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience and 2,500 hours of total flight time are preferred.
- Required knowledge and abilities include aviation safety standards and practices, common aviation regulations, effective class management and teaching, first-level facilitation and customer service skills, and the ability to be coachable and receive feedback.
- The position also requires the physical range of motion needed to operate rudder or anti-torque controls with both feet, manipulate simulator controls, enter and exit the simulator via its ramp, move around the classroom while instructing, and exit a malfunctioned simulator in a severely pitched attitude.
- Vision, lifting, mobility, and environmental requirements apply, including regularly lifting or moving up to 10 pounds and frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Employment is subject to compliance reviews, including OFAC sanctions screening, and the position may require access to ITAR/EAR export-controlled technology, U.S.
- Person status or other export authorization, and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S.
- Government security clearance.
